(Late) New Year’s Resolutions!
January 10, 2008
I really want to learn a programming language, so my resolution is to learn Perl/Lisp. [edit: found some Lisp sites. Franz? Anyway, they have a demo compiler, (I can't compile things above 50 MB! Oh noes!) and training things, so I think I'll be good. If anyone wants to help with it, feel free.][another edit: Decided to go with Allegro CL, because it was the first one I found.]

Either Perl or Lisp will be with you for life. Inflicted, in the case of Perl; blessed, in the case of Lisp.

Daniel Weinreb’s Common Lisp Survey is about as comprehensive a starting point as you’re ever going to need.

By the way, do you know any programming languages? Because if you don’t and you’re planning on picking your first language to learn then I’d recommend Python; it has a good tutorial too.
